•Ground yellow corn powder discharge in an innovative test facility•Predicting model of corn flow rate in aerated filling head discharge•Comparison between predicting model and experimental tests
The controlled injection of air can increase the flow rate of some bulk solids from bins and hoppers. From a well-consolidated theoretical model, experimental data obtained by material characterization tests and test rig experiments were used to investigate the aerated discharge behavior of ground yellow corn powder. A comparison between experimental discharge flow rate and the model was performed. Corrective functions obtained by a regression of the experimental data were introduced.
