Abstract

The experimental investigations have been provided for the explanation of the influence on the grinding process of granular material of ferromagnetic particles moved by means of the rotating magnetic field (the application of magnetically driven fluidization).A new approach of the mathematical description of the grinding process has been presented by means of the maximal entropy principle (MEP) approach based on the maximization of the informational entropy. The experimentally identified results of the proposed model have presented the possibility of the adequate prediction of the particle size distribution (PSD).

Graphical abstractThis experimental study presents the application of the maximum entropy principle (MEP) approach for the description of the grinding process under action of the rotating magnetic field (RMF). The proposed informational MEP approach allows describing the temporal changes of the probability size distribution (PSD) of the particle size collections. The typical example of results of MEP approach to the grinding process of granular material under action of the RMF is presented below (diameter of magnetic spherical particles — L = 3.5 mm; RMF intensity — H = 49.1 kA m− 1).Figure optionsDownload full-size imageDownload as PowerPoint slide
