Abstract
The attrition behavior for well defined single crystal impacts on a flat surface was studies. A model is proposed considering the detailed crystal and impact geometry. The model-based analysis shows that there is a large effect of crystal geometry and impact angle. The predictiveness of earlier modeling approaches could be improved.
