Abstract
A 5-year-old male cat is presented for weakness and fatigue. Clinical examination revealed dyspnoea and pain on thoracic palpation. Radiography and echocardiography showed the presence of an intracardiac metallic foreign body (lead rifle pellet). The pellet was located in the interventricular septum at the level of the tricuspid valve. Definitive treatment was not possible but the cat is currently free of symptoms. To the author's knowledge, this is the first description of an intracardiac foreign body in a cat.
