The choice of exploitation parameters for a given pump construction decides about its maximum efficiency. It is possible to adopt a mono-criterion or a multi-criteria approach in order to optimize the pump efficiency. The optimization process requires calculating volumetric efficiency, hydraulic and mechanical efficiency and total efficiency. The application of discrete optimization logical methods to analyze the degree of importance of construction and/or exploitation parameters of a gear pump after tooth root undercutting is presented in this study.
