Abstract
⺠Allylglycine (AG) is a GABA synthesis enzyme inhibitor. ⺠Focally applied AG enhances dopamine (DA) efflux in the nucleus accumbens. ⺠Thus, GABA disinhibits accumbal DA. ⺠AG-sensitive GABA acts at GABAB, but AG-insensitive GABA acts at GABAA receptors. ⺠AG allows differentiation of distinct, accumbal GABA receptors.
