The flow field of industrial ventilation hood induced by the combination of extract-flow and crosswind will be affected by the oblique angle of the hood's set-up. This text is aimed at the oblique effects of a hood computed numerically by the I-DEAS ESC software. The size and scope of the capture zone of toxic gases upon the flow simulation are highly influenced by the variables of the extract velocity at the opening to the extract duct and the angle of the opening of the duct to the direction of the environmental air flow. The streamline extending from the hood's central axis is changed. The efficiencies of gas capture are altered not only by the momentum ratio u/v but also by the relation between the direction of the hood's inclination and crosswind vector.
