Abstract

ABSTRACTAIMTo study the new antifungal active triterpene glycosides of sea cucumber Holothuria (Microthele) axiloga.METHODSTriterpene glycosides from Holothuria (Microthele) axiloga were separated and purified by silica gel chromatography, reversed-phase silica gel chromatography and RP-HPLC. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of chemical evidence, spectral data and chemical reactions.RESULTSTwo triterpene glycosides were identified as axilogoside A (1) and holothurin B (2).CONCLUSIONAxilogoside A (1) is a new triterpene glycoside, and 2 was isolated from Holothuria (Microthele) axiloga for the first time. They showed considerable antifungal activities (4⩽MIC80⩽16 μg·mL−1)
