Abstract

AimTo study the chemical constituents of Selaginella stautoniana.MethodsThe compounds were isolated and purified by Diaion HP-20, Toyopearl HW-40, silica gel column chromatography and their structures were identified by physico-chemical and spectral methods, respectively.ResultsSeventeen compounds were obtained and identified as isovanillic acid (1), p-hydroxybenzoic acid (2), 3, 4, 5-trimethoxyphenol (3), vanillic acid (4), 2-methoxyhydroquinone (5), p-hydroxyphenol(6), 3, 4, 5-trimethoxybenzoic acid (7), hydroferulicacid (8), hydrocaffeic acid (9), p-hydroxy phenylethanol (10), umbelliferone (11), apigenin- 6, 8-di-C-β-D-glucopyranoside (12), 2, 3-dihydroamentoflavone (13), bilobetin (14), quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside (15), kaempferol-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside (16) and amentoflavone (17).ConclusionCompounds 1–16 were isolated from this plant for the first time.
