Two new 2-phenylbenzofurans from the bark of Styrax perkinsiae

AimTo study the chemical constituents in the bark of Styrax perkinsiae.MethodsThe compounds were isolated with chromatographic methods, and their chemical structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral data.ResultsTen compounds were isolated and identified as 5-(2-propen-1-one)-7-methoxy-2-(3, 4-methylenedioxyphenyl) benzofuran (1), 1′′-hydryoxyegonol gentiobioside (2), obassioside B (3), egonol (4), egonol glucoside (5), egonol gentiobioside (6), egonol gentiotrioside (7), styraxlignolide B (8), styraxjaponoside C (9), and masutakeside I (10).ConclusionCompounds 1 and 2 are new 2-phenylbenzofurans.
