Abstract

ABSTRACTAIMTo study the effects of salidroside on hemorheology and myocardial ischemic reperfusion injury in isolated heart of rats.METHODSHigh-molecular weight dextran was used to develop the model of acute blood stasis in rats, and the effects on hemorheology were observed. The effects of salidroside on the coronary blood flow and cardiac contractility of isolated rat heart were observed using ischemia/reperfusion model.RESULTSSalidroside (6, 12, 24 mg·kg−1) can effectively prevent the increases of the whole blood viscosity (high, middle and low shear rates), plasma viscosity, hematocrit and fibrinogen; Salidroside(1.6, 2.0, 2.5 mg·L−1) can increase the coronary blood flow and enhance the myocardial contractility of the isolated rat heart significantly.CONCLUSIONSalidroside can improve hemorheology of rats in the acute blood stasis model, and it has protective effects on myocardial ischemic reperfusion injury in isolated rat heart.
