Abstract
Paperboard exhibits a complex mechanical behaviour, which is governed by several phenomena. This work proposes a contribution to the identification of these phenomena. Uni-axial tensile tests under various configurations were carried out on the paperboard and corrugated cardboard. Observations under scanning electron microscopy were thereafter done in order to identify the microscopic phenomena produced in the structure. These observations made possible to highlight the presence of damage and its various appearance mechanisms.
