Abstract
The problems of determining the stress concentrations around a triangular hole in a fiber-reinforced viscoelastic composite plate under uniform tension or pure bending are presented. Using the method of effective moduli, these problems are solved by reduction to the corresponding problems for an anisotropic elastic material. Illyushin’s approximation method is used to derive the viscoelastic solution. Numerical computations were carried out and the results show how the stress distribution around the hole changes with time, and also how the stress concentration factor depends on the constitutive parameter.
