Abstract

Experimental studies on parameter optimization of the maximal influencing factor layer of alternately laminated anisotropic damped structures have been carried out with a dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA Q800). The influences of fiber orientation angles, thicknesses and multilayer substitutes for the dominant constrained layer on temperature and frequency characteristics of the structural loss factor have also been discussed. The experimental results show that the structural damping characteristics are better when the fiber orientation angle of the dominant constrained layer is close to 90° (including the laminating of two 90° layers) and the optimal thickness varies with different structures. Furthermore, the structural damping characteristics are better while the ratio of the total thickness of the damping layers to the thickness of the maximal influencing factor layer is about 10.
