Abstract
In conclusion, in diabetic/hyperlipidemic rabbits, cloricromene appeared to influence the enzymes involved in the last steps of tryptophan oxidative metabolism through the kynurenine pathway. This, together with the antioxidant action through the activation of Cu/Zn SOD, might deserve further investigation for evaluating any link between the observed experimental findings at the level of the kynurenine pathway and the clinical effect of the drug.
