Abstract
⺠Calcium channel blockers (CCB) are antiproliferative in vascular smooth muscle cells. ⺠Verapamil stereoisomers are antiproliferative in VSMC independent of CCB activity. ⺠Verapamil stereoisomers alter mitochondrial appearance and frequency in VSMC. ⺠Verapamil stimulates autophagy in cultured VSMC.
