Material Basis of Compatibility of Traditional Chinese Medical Categorized Formula with Fingerprints

This work was to reveal the compatibility of material basis of Traditional Chinese Medical categorized formula. The activities of the combined effective parts of Ermiaowan categorized formulas for anti-gouty syndrome of dampness and heat and Ermiaowan's relevant herbs were also evaluated. The results identified the mechanism and function of compatibility of effective parts. Four types of fingerprints of effective parts of Ermiaowan categorized formula were established with HPLC and GC. Similarities of peak UV spectra were employed to evaluate the relative adscription analysis of its relevant herbs. HPLC/MS-MS and GC/MS-MS were used to identify the chemical constituents of main peaks in the fingerprints. The compatibility changes of total peaks of four types of fingerprints of Ermiaowan categorized formulas were compared. The results indicated that Ermiaowan categorized formulas for clearing away heat and drying dampness played a major role in anti-gouty syndrome of dampness and heat. The changes of chemical components are in accordance with the attributes of Ermiaowan categorized formulas.
