Abstract
The applications of mass spectrometry (MS) and its coupling technologies (gas chromatography-MS, high-performance liquid chromatography-MS, capillary electrophoresis-MS, etc.) on the chemical constituents of lignans, essential oils, organic acids, and triterpenoids in (Schisandra chinensis and Schisandra sphenanthera) fruits are reviewed and their potential applications are summarized. The aim of this study is to provide a basis for rapid screening of chemical constituents from Chinese medicine, identification of medicinal material varieties, and quality control methods.
