Abstract

To study the effects of Qiangxin capsules on the myocardium matrix metalloproteinase MMP-1, MMP-9 expression and heart function of the rats with chronic cardiac failure(CCF), the roles of MMPs which result in CCF and the function and mechanism of the capsules used to help myocardium reconstitution are discussed. To apply abdominal cavity injection of adriamycin to prepare the CCF model. After eight weeks, for each group with corresponding processes, the changes in blood stream dynamics and cardiac muscle MMP-1, MMP-9 expression are examined. Qiangxin capsules can enhance the level of +dp/dt max, -dp/dt max, the LVSP for the CCF rats, reduce the LVEDP level, decrease heart weight index, and reduce upregulation MMP-1, MMP-9 expression. Qiangxin capsules can improve the contractile and diastole function of the left ventricle for CCF rats and reduce the upregulation of MMP-1, MMP-9 expression and activity. Probably, it is one of the most important mechanisms that is intervened by Qiangxin capsules in cardiac failure mesenchymal reconstitution.
