Abstract

The study investigated the therapeutic effects of panax notoginseng saponins (PNS) on Tubulointerstilial Fibrosis in the rat model of adenine nephropathy. The study was carried out with 58 Wister rats, which were randomly divided into five groups, the normal group, sham operation group, model group, Niaoduqing group, and PNS group. The data of the study was statistically analyzed with the help of a computer with SPSS 11.0 package. The serum Ca2+, P3−, and RBC, Hb were obviously improved and the serum Scr and BUN were reduced in the PNS group compared to the model group, there were significant statistics (P<0.05). Pathohistological examination found that the PNS could lessen the deposition of crystallized adenine and abate the histomorphological injury to the kidney. The PNS could improve the renal function by lessening the deposition of crystallized adenine and elevating the level of Ca2+, RBC, and Hb, even as it reduced the level of P3− in the blood. Therefore, PNS obviously had therapeutic effects on the tubulointerstilial fibrosis in the rat model of Adenine nephropathy.
