Abstract
The effective substance of traditional Chinese medicines (TCM) has long been a focus of TCM studies. Cyto-membrane biochromatography has increasingly become a useful tool for studying the effectiveness of the TCM. This article discusses the principle, merits, and application perspectives of the method and the possible problems faced when working with TCM. It is believed that the method is able to play an important role in studying the effective substances of Chinese medicines and in finding whether it can be modified and optimized for further applications.
