Abstract
In this study SAM (synthetic aperture magnetometry) and event-related SAM were applied to localize magnetically recorded transient and steady-state auditory evoked responses: P1m, N1m, P2m, SSR (steady-state response), and SF (sustained field). Besides SAM time windows covering complete components, the N1m was also analysed by using short time windows (16 ms) located at the raising slopes of the individual responses. With the exception of the SF, SAM as well as event-related SAM were able to successfully localize individual auditory evoked responses, even in the case of very short time windows. The SF could only be localized by the event-related approach.
