Abstract
Synovectomy may be considered for the treatment of chronic wrist arthritis. The indications for wrist synovectomy are, however, not clearly defined. Open synovectomy has been reported to provide good pain relief for a relatively long time but can be associated with loss of mobility. Arthroscopic synovectomy seems equally reliable in terms of symptom reduction and no adverse effects have been reported.
