Abstract
The present research aims to elucidate the state of employees' mental health as baseline data, to develop mental health services based on the data, and to evaluate the effects of the services. For the present investigation, a self-reported questionnaire was conducted on the employees of a manufacturing company located in central Japan, in July 2003. Thirty-five percent of the employees were classified into the mental health disorder group. The necessity of health promotion for the entire company and an approach for the high-risk group (employees who felt high levels of stress) were confirmed.
