Abstract
In this article, a new inverse halftoning method, in which some filters are switched based on the pattern around target pixel, is proposed. The filters are tuned for specified patterns such as vertical edge, horizontal edge, smooth area and so on. An idea of a modular network self-organizing map is employed to construct pattern classifier and filters.
