Abstract
It is time to implement the bio-psycho-social concept and related concepts as well as general eastern and western aspects into practice of medicine. A “Double Technique” of history taking and assessing is introduced in order to accomplish the Next Step made by doctor and patient. The “Double Technique” is based on a seven-stage doctor–patient exchange accompanied by a seven-step problem solving group activity. This leads to a new kind of awareness. A case history of a female patient with a perceived lump in the hepatic region is presented and used as an example.
