Streptococcus infantarius and colonic cancer: Identification and purification of cell wall proteins putatively involved in colorectal inflammation and carcinogenesis in rats

The aim of this present study was (i) to identify the proteins from a Streptococcus infantarius cell wall partially purified fraction triggering in vitro proinflammatory and in vivo procarcinogenic responses, (ii) to clone the partial genes encoding 3 of these identified proteins and to express them in a fused form in Escherichia coli.
