Abstract
The difference observed in APTT results between samples drawn through IVAPS compared to samples obtained by venepuncture, suggests that peripheral venepuncture should be used in these patients. The use of IVAPS is convenient for the patient, but it is not always recommended, as it may lead to laboratory errors.
