Abstract
PLAP-like constituted the only specific marker in the case of the pineal cell germ tumour, which justifies its use in association with neuroimaging studies in the diagnosis of cranial tumours. At follow-up analysis, PLAP-like was also critical since it confirmed the good response to treatment in the first case, while in the second one, it was the only marker to complement the assessment of tumour recurrence. We believe that this isoenzyme analysis is of relevance as a complementary marker in GCT.
