Abstract
⺠We evaluated effects of arsenic preexposure on the pharmacodynamics of ketoprofen. ⺠Arsenic inhibited analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects of ketoprofen. ⺠Arsenic attenuated ketoprofen's effects on COX activity and TNF-α, IL-1β and PGE2 levels. ⺠Inhibitory effects of arsenic may link to functional antagonism of ketoprofen. ⺠Arsenic exposure via drinking water may reduce ketoprofen's therapeutic efficacy.
