Abstract

This work presents the statistical influence of type and content of mineral additions, water/binder ratio and axial compressive strength of binary and ternary concrete mixtures with mineral additions. Using simple and multiple linear regressions and analysis of variance, the main parameters that influenced the microstructure and the durability were determined. Among the dependent variables, the mineral addition content presented the highest significance, followed by water/binder ratio, mineral addition type and at last, compressive strength. The statistical results confirm the beneficial behavior that the mineral additions quantity show upon the concrete properties, according to what is mentioned by literature.

► The mineral addition content presented the greatest significance. ► The ranking of the other variables were: w/b ratio, MA type and compressive strength. ► For the MLR model, the four variables presented the best statistical result. ► The ternary mixtures showed tendency of more significance than the binary ones. ► The statistical performances increased according to the MA content in the mixtures.
