Abstract
The topic of this paper is the reaction of the glue–concrete interface of bonded anchors under tensile load. The analysis described in this paper is closely focused on the bond quality of the most widespread industrial glues. The paper contains the results of experimental studies and numerical analyses. Finally, a relation is given which describes the load-bearing capacity of a bonded anchor under tensile load for the combined concrete bond failure mode.
► Combined material failure of anchor can by more dangerous than separated failures. ► Glue is a limiting factor of anchor bearing capacity in high-strength concrete. ► Effective anchorage length is different in confined and unconfined anchor test.
