Abstract
⺠Mode of action for reproductive toxicity of DIMPTS is hypothyroidism from excess iodine levels. ⺠Testicular development in the neonate is the tissue most sensitive to iodine toxicity. ⺠Neonates born to mothers with excessive iodine intake exhibit signs of transient hypothyroidism. ⺠Exposures to iodinated substances are less than 1% of the iodine RDI for normal development. ⺠Exposures to DIMPTS do not represent any risk to health at any life-stage.
