Abstract

This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation carried out to find out the influence of paste and powder on self-compacting concrete mixtures. Tests have been conducted for 63 mixes with constant water content varying from 175 l/m3 to 210 l/m3 with three different paste contents. Among the different water contents and w/c ratios studied, for each series of experiments, w/c ratio and more importantly, water is kept constant. Slump flow, V funnel and J-ring tests were carried out to examine the performance of SCC. The results indicate that the flow properties of SCC increase with an increase in the paste volume.
