Abstract
This paper presents the results of investigations related to the development of a novel low temperature technology for obtaining light porous granular materials based on zeolite rock. Using a process temperature as low as 850 °C, porous, granulated material was obtained, having a compressive strength of 3–6 MPa, a bulk density of 380–600 kg/cm3 and a water absorbtion of 3–8%. Optionally, ash microspheres or foamed vermiculite can be added in fractions of 3–5% to increase strength.
