Abstract
An attempt is made to investigate the change in strength characteristics of different granular base materials reinforced with geogrid. The samples tested were both soaked and unsoaked, with and without geogrid to simulate both the best and worse case scenarios. The present investigations focuses only an experimental investigation, but this can set a stage for the development of proper mechanistic design of geogrid reinforced granular base material. The results of the experiment provide guidance for what type of granular material can benefit from reinforcing it with geogrid.
