Abstract
Pregnancy is an important risk factor for venous thromboembolism. The indications for thromboprophylaxis treatment are specified by expert recommendations by level of risk, taking into account clinical and biological factors ; low molecular weight heparins are the first choice. In the setting of prophylaxis, a scheduled interruption of treatment allows commonly to perform epidural anesthesia for delivery. Managing curative treatment is more complex and requires a multidisciplinary approach for each patient, including delivery schedule, which must take into account a much more rigorous treatment interruption scheme. In this case, regional anesthesia is more hazardous, and the incidence of bleeding complications in the peri-partum period is higher.
