Abstract
Anti-TNF alpha give excellent results in severe forms of some inflammatory arthritides such as rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, on clinical, biological and radiological aspects. However their effect is suspensive and the treatment must be prolonged. Anti-TNF alpha facilitate various infections, including opportunistic infections. Severe tuberculosis, sometimes lethal have been reported, especially with monoclonal anti-TNF antibodies. The clinical presentation of these infections is atypical because it is modified by anti-TNF treatment. These infection can bring some patients to reanimation departments. The prescription and follow-up of these biotherapies must be very careful.
