Abstract
The enteral nutrition can improve the prognosis of critically ill patients. It should be prescribed and realized as well as possible to be effective. The adhesion of the medical team and the patient are essential. Their information and their training, based on the most recent scientific data, have to be complete with a clear and consensual protocol. It has to contain recommendations for the management of digestive complications, gastroparesis and diarrhea. It is that on these conditions that the enteral nutrition is feasible and effective in intensive care units.
