Abstract
Acute renal failure and its treatment by continuous extrarenal epuration are responsible for specific metabolic and nutritional alterations. If the particular features of the epuration techniques play an important role in the kinetics of the elimination of nutriment, some qualitative aspects must be accounted. The losses of glucose, amino acids, water-soluble vitamins and trace elements are particularly important and must be compensated.
