Abstract
Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the major antiepileptic agents are presented. For each drug, the onset of action, the factors influencing the extraction across the blood brain barrier, the extent of metabolism as well as the main drug-drug interactions are detailed. For each pharmacological class, dosage and practical issues related to administration are described, based on the evidences when available in the literature.
