Abstract
After close analysis of this information, it can be stated that eccentric exercise is one of the important non-invasive form of therapy of choice. However, there is lack of agreement on its methodology application which is found to be very heterogeneous after the evaluation of the results following surgical treatment. Finally, knowledge is still lacking about the mechanisms leading to the onset of a degenerative process of the tendon and of the resulting changes, which generates higher expectations for research.
