Abstract
Manual drainage has been widely investigated to evaluate its efficacy. Clinical measures, reoplethsmography and lymphoscintigraphy have contributed to the establishment of practical guidelines. Evaluating the effect of manual drainage after different types of maneuvers characterized by the direction of the massages, the presence or not of skin traction, the pressure applied, provides evidence in favor or not of its use for the treatment of edema.
