Abstract
Far-reaching similarities suggest that Still knew at least some of Virchow's work. Whether he adopted some of his central views or simply copied from Virchow's remains unresolved. Whatever the truth is, taking a closer look on Virchow's ideas pays off, as some of them get quite close to beliefs held in osteopathy. This may very well prove a new impulse for further research, as suggested by recent publications.
