Abstract
- An analysis of the current literature that investigates the effects of yoga practice on the health of patients with type 2 diabetes.
- Current literature provides moderate evidence that yoga practice leads to improvements in fasting glucose compared to standard care alone.
- Yoga practice may also improve lipid profile and blood pressure in this population; however, additional research is needed.
- More well-designed and adequately reported randomized controlled trials that examine the effect of yoga on diabetes are needed.
