Subcutaneous fat necrosis of the newborn (SCFN) is a rare disorder. We report the case of a newborn with SCFN which was complicated by hypercalcaemia and nephrocalcinosis. The hypercalcaemia was treated with hyper hydration, furosemide, and corticosteroids but in vein. Finally the patient was given biphosphonate which normalized calcium levels.
