Abstract
There is no doubt that service users have a role to play in the development of partnerships, not only to support the provision of care, but also to develop the service. The Treating Patients Well project aimed to promote user involvement and aid the decision making process. This paper presents a project, which sought to enhance staff, user and public involvement and presents some of the dilemmas and challenges to patient and public participation when seeking to enhance and develop services for neonates and children.
