Abstract
The effectiveness and safety of experimental cueâbased versus health care providerâdriven (baseline) feeding strategies were evaluated in infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia. The experimental group (n = 55) and the control group (n = 60) included infants who had been previously diagnosed with varying levels of severity of bronchopulmonary dysplasia and were identified retrospectively. Previous research was used to derive an Oral Feeding Readiness Scale as well as an Oral Feeding Quality Scale. Results validated both scales as well as the cueâbased feeding strategy.
