Abstract
In this article, the author focuses on the public health issue of adolescent dating violence. Issues associated with violence in adolescent dating experiences are explored, including the definition of dating violence, forms of violence, and associated health consequences. Assessment tools and techniques useful for nurses in the clinical setting are provided to use when discussing violence with adolescents and parents of adolescents. Finally, strategies for intervening in situations of adolescent dating violence are offered.
