Abstract
The incidence of Streptococcus agalactiae is widely recognized as increasing in nonpregnant adults. This report describes a retrospective case series of S. agalactiae endocarditis at the Heart Institute of Sao Paulo, Brazil, between 2000 and 2006. Early diagnosis and valve surgery seem to have contributed to improved patient outcomes.
